Stoicism is an ancient Greco-Roman philosophy founded by a gentleman called Zeno around 400 BC. It’s 4 most famous ancient teachers are Zeno, Seneca, Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius, the last of the good Roman Emperors.

There’s a lot of confusion about what stoicism means. It’s 4 main virtues are: Wisdom, Courage, Justice, and Moderation.

Unlike what some think, stoicism does not mean being emotionless or distant (a common misconception!). Stoics were nothing, if not men of action. The philosophy can mean different things to different people, and has evolved over the years, but one of the core principles is to develop the ability to control our own emotions and reactions to situations, and to take a step back to look at the world calmly, logically and rationally.

We hope as you explore this site, you can gain knowledge on what stoicism truly means and how it can help you in your everyday life…to achieve physical, mental and emotional health.
